Request for Proposals (RFP) Deadline Extended:
Submit a Proposal to Present at the Spring Conference
2024 Theme: Leveling the Playing Field
The deadline to submit a proposal to present at the MassCUE Spring Conference has been extended to Friday, March 8th. Scheduled for Friday, May 31 - Saturday, June 1 at Polar Park in Worcester, the Spring Conference is a smaller, more casual event than the MassCUE Fall Conference, making it ideal for first-time presenters or anyone who has been hesitant to present to a large audience. Educators can opt to deliver a formal EdTalk or present at an informal table space in the Innovation Fair. If you are a new teacher, pre-service teacher or a paraprofessional, the Spring Conference is your opportunity to give presenting a try!
Consistent with MassCUE’s Equity Campaign: MassCUE4All, the theme for the conference is Leveling the Playing Field.
The MassCUE Spring Conference will feature two different kinds of sessions:
Ed Talk
The Ed Talk is a traditional session that emulates a learning experience, which might be represented in breakout sessions or workshop opportunities to listen, learn & create. The session would focus on a specific topic or content area, a specific process, tool, project or resource. This is a 50 minute traditional session presented by 1 or 2 presenters via use of a slide deck or a similar mode of presentation delivery.
Innovation Fair
Educators are always looking for cutting edge ways to be more creative in their classrooms! They thrive upon the discovery of fresh ideas to support, teach and learn with students. The Interactive Spaces component will provide interactive opportunities to inspire curiosity, innovation and creativity. Presenters will showcase their work with attendees in table top presentations and demonstrations, engage in discussion and build upon ideas and to provide takeaways to all who jump into the Interactive Spaces experience. This is a 50 minute informal session facilitated by 1 or 2 presenters.
Proposals must align with one of the five strands of the conference:
2024 Spring Conference Presentation Strands
- AI: A Force for Positive Change: How can AI technologies be used to create a more equitable, inclusive, and humane educational landscape?
- Inclusive Tools for Diverse Learners: How can tools, policies, and/or strategies promote inclusive learning environments for diverse learners?
- Tech-Enhanced Individualized Instruction: How can technology shape individualized instruction?
- Digital Equity & Harm Prevention: How can digital equity prevent harm in schools? DESE defines digital equity as "a framework that calls on educators and leaders to ensure that all students have access to and ownership of the tools that best support them to engage with learning experiences that are targeted, authentic, relevant, socially connected, and growth-oriented (Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 2022).”
- Ethical & Empathetic Online Conduct: How can students access opportunities to practice ethical and empathetic behavior online?
The Request for Proposals (RFP) period will end March 8, 2024.
