MassCUE will again host its popular Datapalooza, virtually. Our focus will be assessment and data collection at the classroom, school or district level. Our keynotes are two highly regarded administrators from the Worcester Public Schools, Dr. Sarah Kyriazis  and Dr. Marie Morse. This year’s MassCUE Datapalooza will focus on questions that are relevant and important to educators given the experiences gained working in innovative and unique environments over the past two years. 
 
How do we use data quickly and successfully to target instruction? 
How do we modify and implement formative assessments? 
How do we assess social emotional learning? 
How do we measure student engagement? 
What data is important to communicate with parents and the community? 
How do we talk about assessment? 
How can we measure the effectiveness of instructional tools and strategies? 
How do we address issues of data privacy? 
How do we use data to inspire and lead? 

Audience: K-12 teachers and administrators  

All this learning for $35 per person.  

Limit: 80 educators.

Keynote Speakers

Marie Morse, EdD

Manager of Instruction and School Leadership

Marie MorseDr. Morse leads with equity and innovation. Marie is an expert in school turnaround, reform and organizational leadership. As the Manager of Instruction and School Leadership for elementary education in the Worcester Public Schools, she supervises, mentors, and manages elementary schools and oversees the WPS leadership network.

Marie has three decades of experience in education and previous to this position was a principal of two elementary schools including Union Hill which has been highlighted by MA DESE as a featured turnaround school moving from Level 4 to 1 in three years under her leadership.

She has been awarded the YWCA Katharine F. Erskine Award for exceptional women and she and her school have been recognized for their success. Union Hill School was featured in the Massachusetts Turnaround Field Guide and several aMAzing educator videos and serves as a model of transformational change and improvement.

Sarah Kyriazis, EdD

Manager of Instructional Technology and Digital Learning

Sarah KyriazisDr. Kyriazis is a passionate leader who empowers others. In her role as the district leader for instructional technology, she works daily with leadership to leverage technology and innovation to meet the needs of all learners in the district’s 52 schools.

She has spent two decades coaching educators & leaders in using technology for meaningful learning, professional development, engagement, collaboration, communication, and district efficiency, and has presented on these topics nationally. Under her leadership, the Instructional Technology and Digital Learning team has grown over the past four years and has built capacity in schools through iTeacher, iAssistant Principal, and iPrincipal cohorts.

Sarah was the 2019 MassCue Administrator of the Year and is on the Massachusetts Digital Learning Advisory Council and a member of the Google for Education K-12 North American Advisory Board.

MassCUE will be hosting our annual Datapalooza virtually this year. We encourage educators to present ways they have found helpful in assessing and analyzing data to better inform teaching and student learning.

This year’s event will focus on topics that seem particularly relevant and important to educators given the experiences gained working in innovative and unique environments over the past two years.

Possible topics might include:

  • How do we use data quickly and successfully to target instruction?
  • How do we modify and implement formative assessments?
  • How do we assess social emotional learning?
  • How do we measure student engagement?
