Workshop description
This online workshop in collaboration with EDCO has the content to support the new DESE Individual Professional Development plan requirement of 15 PDPs in the area of training related to strategies for effective schools for students with disabilities and instruction of students with diverse learning styles. Each session will include a short reading, and an exploration of two or more Google Tools. Also, as part of each session, participants will be asked to contribute to a comprehensive and collaborative collection of lesson plans and ideas that will be shared amongst the group. The goal is to create a resource to be used by all – both within the course and beyond.
Weekly Outline (all sessions are online)
Online Session 1: Google Tools for Executive Functioning
Learn how to use Google Tools within Drive and Docs to aid students with tasks that require planning, organization, memory and time management.
Online Session 2: Google Tools for Differentiated Instruction
Learn how to use Google Tools to create lesson plans that differentiate learning to encompass a variety of different learning styles and academic levels.
Online Session 3: Google Tools for Multiple Intelligences
Explore the multiple intelligences and learn how to use Google Tools such as Google Slides to diversify your teaching to encompass them.
Online Session 4: Google Tools for Students with Learning Disabilities
Participants must have a basic knowledge of Google Drive (Docs, Forms, and Slides) and have set up a Google account prior to orientation. Also, participants should install Google Chrome as their browser for the class.

Optional 1 Graduate Credit | At the first class, participants may choose to register for one (1) graduate credit through Worcester State University for an additional fee of $125. Rochelle Cooper
Rochelle Cooper has been a certified educator for the past 15 years. She began her teaching career as a special education 1:1 aide and spent the next 10 years as a 5th grade classroom teacher at Lynnfield Middle School. Rochelle received her undergraduate degree in English from Holy Cross College and her Masters Degree in Teaching from Simmons College. She is currently an Educational Consultant specializing in Digital Learning….and a lover of all things Google.
