Given the significant disruptions and varied student engagement during remote learning, Massachusetts educators are seeking to understand and assess where their students are academically. This will enable them to make informed instructional decisions which meet their students’ individual needs while maintaining on-grade-level expectations. In an effort to support schools and districts, DESE has approved Istation’s Screener and Diagnostic Assessment tools at no-cost for the 2020-2021 school year. The following assessments are approved: Istation’s Indicators of Progress (ISIP) Reading PK-8, ISIP Lectura PK-5, and ISIP Math PK-8.

Virginia Moran
After receiving her undergraduate degree at Fordham University and completing graduate studies at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Virginia spent ten years in Los Angeles teaching elementary school and ESL to adults. Missing the seasons of the northeast, she returned to New York and began her career in publishing as an educational training consultant. She then transitioned to educational software, where she has spent the last seven years helping teachers and administrators integrate technology into their classrooms. Currently, Virginia is working on creating custom solutions for COVID classrooms.
In her free time, she sits on the executive board of Grace Academy in Hartford.
