I have taught a wide variety of grade levels in both Europe and the US over the last 30 years, which gives me an interesting, global perspective. It’s not about what technology we use but rather how we use it to support learning.
As Director of Digital Learning in Westford I am able to work with teachers and students to use technology purposefully to make learning more visible and lessons more engaging. It’s an exciting time to be an educator!
Over the last two years I have worked hard to revamp the grant application and reimbursement process to widen the pool of grant applicants. I am particularly interested in enhancing the benefits we offer MassCUE members, such as new grants, various forms of PD and new innovative ways to make membership of MassCUE enjoyable, meaningful, inspiring and worthwhile.
Chris Gosselin
In my teaching and coaching, my priority is first and foremost to develop and foster meaningful relationships with teachers and students, while continuously providing opportunities for others to share their learning with their community and the world. As the Digital Learning Coach at the Sanborn School in Andover, I work with a dynamic team of administrators and coaches to elevate and enhance instructional practices in our 1:1 school. I’ve presented at both MassCUE conferences on various topics, including authentic assessment, digital storytelling, effective coaching practices and empowering students. I’ve contributed to Edutopia, EdSurge and ISTE as a writer and presenter. I currently serve on MassCUE’s Professional Development committee and coordinate EdSurge’s Massachusetts TLCs. Recently, I was featured in a short film on collaborative teaching and learning with technology. These experiences have informed my teaching practice and will support my work on the MassCUE Board.
Jared Perrine
Jared Perrine has been the Technology Integration Director of the Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School for 13 years. Before that he had experience in both a traditional public-school district, independent school and summer enrichment program. He has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and master’s degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University. He is the coordinator of the school’s Adventure Club and Innovation Lab. He is the cofounder of the Run Boston Running Tours. He is a proud board member of MassCUE (2016-2018), 2015 Pathfinder Award winner and board member of METAA. You can follow him @wiredpilgrim.
Tracy Sockalosky
Over the course of my 17-year journey in education, my passion for technology has grown extensively. And while I certainly understand the derivation of the organization’s name, in 2018 it is hard to imagine an educator that does not use technology in some manner, making MassCUE an organization for every educator, not just the trailblazers and risk-takers we once may have been. My goal as a member of the board will be to represent the realities and complexities of classroom pedagogy from the perspective of the teacher of today – all technology users, whether they want to be, or not. I believe it is essential that we have board members that spend their days in the trenches with kids and that bear the weight that being a classroom teacher entails. Integration and innovation in the classroom starts with the teacher and I want to be that voice on the board.
Colleen Terrill
I have been a MassCUE member for several years and have presented at both the fall and spring conferences. This fall, I volunteered at the conference as I enjoy being actively involved and supporting MassCUE’s mission. Last summer I co-hosted GooglePalooza in Plymouth and am planning GooglePalooza 2018 in Mashpee. Currently, I am the Director of Instructional Technology for Mashpee Public Schools and have held this position for four years. Prior to this position I was a sixth grade teacher. I will bring my experience as an educator and administrator to the board. I am passionate about educating others about the benefits of utilizing and connecting technology with curriculum. I will be a hardworking and committed board member if elected. Thank you for your consideration.
