Join Alison Mitchell, Lexia Learning’s Director of Assessment, as she discusses the critical role of academic language in elementary and secondary settings with a focus on how to translate research findings into practical assessment and meaningful instruction. She will also highlight how Lexia’s literacy programs–including the new Lexia PowerUp Literacy™ for non-proficient readers grades 6 and above–support academic language skill development.

SIG Information
The MassCUE Speech/Language Pathologists (SLP) and Special Educators SIG has a set purpose and mission to promote the use of technology to reach the learning needs of students with communication disorders and learning disabilities. The SLP & Special Education SIG is for Speech/Language Pathologists and Special Educators. The goal is to provide information on ways to use technology to support student abilities to communicate, access curriculum, learn, participate in academic and social experiences, increase student independence and preparedness for transition through the secondary education and onward to post-secondary education and careers. Ideas for meetings will be generated by the membership.
